It's the first post of the second half of this 52-week photo journal.
I am proud of my progress on this personal project. I started on Wordpress then moved to Squarespace. I've since traded in my Fujifilm X-Pro1, X100, and lenses for an X-T10 and X70 with only the 35mm 2.0 and the cheap 16-50mm left. I am so far happy with the transition. It shaved a few pounds off my gear and I carry my X70 more often than I did with my X100. This set-up has made me take more pictures.
In terms of vision and consistency in my photographs, I still have ways to go. Most days, it is challenging to compose shots and make them look like how I "see" them.
My goal for the second half is to be more mindful of the use of light and shadows, how much (or less) I want in a photo to give it a stronger composition. Also, the use of negative space and simplicity of the photograph (to clearly identify the subject and the story it wants to tell). I do need to learn the technical aspects of the camera to make it a more efficient tool.
After all, the main reason I started this project was to avoid getting good photos just out of luck and good timing and more about clear intent and creativity.
