John, the previous owner left a binder of plants in the yard that I have yet to sort through. I still have to figure out the name of the plants growing out there. Every day is a surprise!
The garden has a cascading pond with ferns, hosta and perennials growing around it. The rocks John used to landscape the pond were from the area where 35E highway runs now. They were excavating the area at that time so he went there and hauled the rocks in his wife's new car.
It's a Japanese themed garden with wildflowers and other perennials.
The paths were from original pavers from a street.
I had sown seeds in early April but the greenhouse isn't getting enough sun. I might end up using that area for overwintering plants.
I started garden shopping, too. I bought a Japanese Maple online and a bunch of vegetable starter pots and gladiolus bulbs from Home Depot. The squirrels and bunnies feasted on them. :(
Today, the cool wind wafted a sweet, fragrant scent when I opened the front door. It was from this young tree by our front porch.
Yep, life is just full of surprises.
