First Portrait Mode Single Photo Post.
This photo meets the guidelines I set for myself last week. I carried my camera with one lens all week. I used aperture priority mode, limited post processing (no cropping) and I went out with the intention, “I will shoot something interesting today.”
This was taken at Antiques Bel Air, a short walk from where we currently live. It was heavily snowing outside that stained glass window. The couple who owns the store are very gracious and informative about the pieces they have. It’s one of the most reasonably priced and well curated antiques shops I’ve been in since starting the house renovations. I can spend hours looking at their beautiful things, imagining each item meant something to someone a hundred years past. It wasn’t one of thousands of the same kind just spit out by a factory in China. We bought a handcrafted side table dated 1880. It’s the perfect size for our entryway for the keys and mail.
The house reno is slowly coming along. The appliances and dining table and chairs came yesterday. The walls are painted and “most” shopping is done.
It is starting to look more like a home.
