I have been in a creative slump so this new year (2016), I am starting a 52-week photo journal. I am hoping that this will help me find a more consistent photographic style and push me to create more meaningful images, among other things.
The photo above was taken outside Freehouse on a frigid day, hence the camera shake. I like the aesthetic that resulted from the blur. Did I set for this to happen? No. One thing I need to work on is creating images with intention: to use the camera to express my vision and not to rely on serendipitous auto settings.
“the decisive moment, it is the simultaneous recognition, in a fraction of a second, of the significance of an event as well as the precise organization of forms which gives that event its proper expression.” -Henri Cartier-Bresson
